John Brown
Owner & Founder
Prior to founding StenCo, John Brown spent over 20 years in pharmaceutical research, timed-release medications, and protein and lipid isolation/purification. This unique combination of knowledge led him to discover StenCo, a solution to one of the world’s most pressing environmental issues.
Dr. Heather Watson
Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Heather Watson has her PhD in Analytical Chemistry/Mass Spectrometry. She has 12 years industrial experience, plant extraction and molecular characterization. She also has experience with lab and project management, troubleshooting, biochemistry, polymer characterization. She is an AOCS Approved Chemist and an ASTM D37 committee member.
Clay Knight
Senior Analytical Chemist
Clay Knight has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Alabama and a Master of Science degree in Environmental Toxicology from the University of South Alabama, where his thesis research focused on a USDA project to help combat invasive beetle species. He has close to ten years of experience in the environmental and chemistry fields. For seven of those years, he has worked in analytical chemistry, specializing in analytical instrumentation and wet chemistry techniques.
Wesley Turnipseed
Office Manager
Wesley Turnipseed developed a passion for environmental sustainability during her undergraduate program at the University of Montevallo. She received a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Business Sustainability followed by a Master of Business Administration. She is excited to start her career in sustainability as StenCo’s Office Manager and looks forward to helping StenCo Save The Earth Now!
Ashley Thompson
Chemist
Ashley Thompson has a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with a Biochemistry concentration from the University of Montevallo. Upon joining the StenCo team, she quickly became the Project Lead for a novel controlled release sustainable agriculture project.
Emma Watson
Summer Intern
Emma Watson is a current sophomore at the University of Alabama, where she is working towards a Bachelor of Human Environment Science, Food and Nutrition. She loves working to improve the human experience while minimizing environmental impact, and is interested in many fields such as renewable alternatives, holistic healthcare, and nutrition therapy.
